BROOKLYN - A retired Bergen Beach resident has transformed his cherry tree into a stuffed animal menagerie.

Eugene Felner, 64, decked out the tree in front of his East 70th Street home with his collection of more than 6,000 stuffed animals.

Felner has enlisted the help of local seamstresses over the years to mend the weather-worn playthings. The plush tree also held up to Hurricane Sandy in October.
