BK residents consider whether Rep. Weiner cheated on his wife

SHEEPSHEAD BAY - The scandal surrounding Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) has many in Brooklyn wondering if what he did is considered cheating on his spouse.

Yesterday, Weiner admitted to exchanges with about six different women through Facebook and Twitter before and during his marriage.

Although Weiner claims he never met with the women in person, many in his district say they feel what he did was still cheating on an emotional level, at the very least.

Psychologist Glorious Dunkerly says social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook and text messaging in the 21st century make things much more complicated.

"It can create complication," Dunkerly says. "What the individual does with these ? multiple forms of communication is the question."
