(09/02/10) BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents were at Gateway Marina to soak up the last few glimpses of sun before Hurricane Earl is expected to brush by tomorrow.

Beachgoers braved the mild surf under lifeguards' watchful eyes. Other residents went to the marina to tie down their boats. The marina's owner, Lewis Kalif, made sure boaters knew to secure their ships by sending out an e-mail. Con Edison says it has extra crews in case there are any power outages.
