BROOKLYN - Residents in Park Slope and Sunset Park will be able to take self-defense classes after filing a petition in the wake of another rape attack. Brooklyn resident Teresa Ish started the petition, asking city officials to help provide free self-defense classes in the borough. She was rewarded by Councilwoman Sara Gonzalez (D-District 38), whose spokesperson says some classes will begin this Saturday. Meanwhile, police are searching for the man believed to be responsible for one rape and five attempted rapes. They say he is Hispanic and between the ages of 25 and 30. Anyone with information is urged to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
