MOUNT PROSPECT PARK - Brooklyn residents are trying to cool down during the summer's latest heat wave. In Mount Prospect Park, a smaller portion of Prospect Park near the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, counselors and their campers are taking advantage of the sunshine. The Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program Day Camp had a scheduled day for outdoor water activities, and had plenty of water games in store for the kids. City officials are urging residents to stay in the shade or air conditioning today. Pools and cooling centers also provide relief from the heat. The heat advisory will remain in effect through Tuesday.
