GERITSEN BEACH - Thousands are still without power in Brooklyn after Superstorm Sandy hit last week, and a new storm system is bringing falling temperatures and snow. Residents in Geritsen Beach and Coney Island are growing more desperate by the hour. Many people who have generators haven't been able to find fuel to power them, so they're sitting in the frigid darkness. Con Edison officials say crews are working around the clock to bring power back to the borough, but residents say it's little consolation until their lights are back on.News 12 BK Weather CenterCon Edison Storm Center
