FLATBUSH - Brooklyn residents with family in Haiti say they're praying for their safety after Hurricane Tomas slammed the nation today.

Hundreds of Haitians are still displaced from the devastating earthquake that struck earlier this year. Many still live in tent cities, extremely vulnerable to the elements.

Local Haitian leaders met at a church in Flatbush last night, trying to figure out how to help their fellow Haitians. Leaders say they're asking Brooklyn residents to hold off on donations until they hear from Haiti on what supplies are needed.
