BK riders rally to save B37 bus route

BROOKLYN - A dozen Brooklyn residents took to the streets today to protest against the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's elimination of the B37 bus route.

Protesters rallied at 44th Street and Third Avenue this morning to save their bus route, which is scheduled to be discontinued June 27.

State Assemblyman Felix Ortiz (D-Brooklyn) participated in the rally. He says the cuts will devastate the communities located along Third Avenue.

The B37 route will be replaced by a re-routed B70 bus, but service will be limited. Bus service between 69th and Court streets along Third Avenue will be eliminated altogether. Riders will have to rely on the Fourth Avenue subway line to get around.
