BK soup kitchen offers free gourmet meals

BROOKLYN - A local soup kitchen has added some style to the mission of feeding the hungry.

The Liberty Cafe, a food pantry in East New York, offers free gourmet-style food and a cozy atmosphere to those who need it.

The cafe's organizer says it?s funded by donations from a local church and run by volunteers from Brooklyn.

Volunteers say they serve about 350 meals a day and that last year, they gave out more than 75,000 hot meals.
