BK storeowner allegedly beats teen with hammer

BROWNSVILLE - A Brooklyn teen is fighting for his life after police say a Brownsville bodega owner beat him in the head with a hammer. According to police, the East New York Avenue storeowner assaulted the 15-year-old after a dispute turned violent early Monday. Police said the storeowner claimed the teen was shoplifting before the two got into an argument. The teen has not been identified and remains in critical condition at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. The storeowner was arrested on assault charges.
