BK students evacuated; man with gun in custody

BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn elementary school was evacuated Wednesday after a man with a gun was reported in the building, education officials say.

No students or teachers were injured, and police arrested the man. It's not clear if the man was somehow involved with the school. Officials aren't sure how long he was in the building.

Education officials say all students were evacuated to nearby Highland Park a block away from the school and parents picked them up there.

There are 973 students enrolled in P.S. 108 in Cypress Hills, which has grades from kindergarten through fifth.
