BK students give up sugary drinks for a week

BROOKLYN - Students at P.S. 221 have decided to give up sugary drinks this week for a healthy nutritional challenge.

Students at the school have learned about the dangers of sugary drinks, and even had a chance to make their own lemonade.

The "No Sugary Drinks Week" was inspired by the mayor's recent push to stop the sale of sodas larger than 16 oz.

Aside from learning about the benefits of healthy drinking, students are also growing their own vegetables and herbs in the school's garden.
