BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn teacher is being honored by the borough president after returning a stolen dog to its rightful owner.

Tena Cohen, who teaches Spanish at Brooklyn Tech, saw a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for sale in Manhattan's Union Square. She says her instincts told her something wasn't right and so she bought the pooch for $220.

Cohen took the dog to the vet where he was scanned for a microchip. She then was able to return him to his owner on Christmas Day.
