BK vets send boxes of comfort to soldiers in Afghanistan

BROOKLYN - Some Brooklyn veterans are working to make sure thousands of service members stationed in Afghanistan receive a little comfort from back home.

As part of ?Operation Shoe Box,? retired members from the Marine Corps League Brooklyn No. 1 in Homecrest are collecting comforting items from home to send to the service members. They say it's important to remember that although President Obama has announced a troop drawdown in Afghanistan, not everyone will be leaving.
