Bloomberg announces free Wi-Fi in commercial districts

BROOKLYN - Mayor Michael Bloomberg today announced that free public Wi-Fi will soon be offered in four commercial districts in Brooklyn.

The free Wi-Fi will launch along the Fulton Street corridor, throughout the Bam cultural district and in parts of Brownsville and downtown Brooklyn.

Bloomberg also launched Wired NYC, a program which aims to encourage and accelerate the deployment of broadband technologies for office buildings.

The free Wi-Fi will start in December.
