BROOKLYN - Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the violence that broke out around Brooklyn over the weekend shows why tougher gun laws are needed. As News 12 Brooklyn has reported, a man died after he was shot multiple times on Sackman Street Saturday night. Several blocks away, a man and a woman were injured in a shooting on Riverdale Avenue. Then, early Sunday morning, three more people were hurt in a drive-by shooting at a barbecue on Thatford Avenue. "We just have to get the guns out of the hands of kids, out of the hands of people with psychiatric problems, and out of the hands of people with criminal records," Bloomberg said today. Police have not said whether they have any suspects in the shootings. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.Police: 1 dead, 5 injured in shootings around BrooklynCops: Man shot 23 times during Father's Day celebration
