Bloomberg heads to Albany to fight city cuts

BROOKLYN - Mayor Michael Bloomberg was in Albany today to fight against Gov. Andrew Cuomo's (D-N.Y.) proposed cuts.

Bloomberg is warning the governor that his proposed budget would shortchange New York City by more than $2 million. He says that it would also trigger thousands of layoffs.

Cuomo is putting city cuts at about $1 billion. He says the move is necessary and that New York must reduce spending to help close the state's $10 billion deficit.
