BROOKLYN - Mayor Michael Bloomberg is considering making Brooklyn residents pay in order to have their trash picked up.

Supporters of this plan believe that making garbage pickup separate will lead to decreased taxes.

Paying for trash pickup is common across the country, and the mayor says it may help cut down on waste.
