NEW YORK - (AP) - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg struck a humble tone in his inauguration speech on the first day of his third term.
Bloomberg says he understands his third term is a "special opportunity." And he promises to listen and lead in the next four years.
He was initially barred from running for a third term but got that law changed. Many voters were not happy about the way he did it. He won by a narrow margin.
Bloomberg also promises a management shakeup like those he oversaw at his financial information company, Bloomberg LP.
He says deputy commissioners will work in other city agencies for three-week periods to generate fresh ideas.
