MARINE PARK - Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other city officials toured Marine Park today to check in on the snow cleanup progress and to thank residents for lending a helping hand following the blizzard.

Residents in Marine Park say they have been pitching in for their neighbors by picking up groceries, shoveling and doing other errands for the elderly or anyone who needs help.

By early afternoon, snowplows had mostly cleared Marine Park's troubled streets.

Borough President Marty Markowitz admits mistakes were made in the city's handling of the snowstorm cleanup and he says he will try to make sure it never happens again.
