Board of Elections honors injured poll worker

BROOKLYN - The Board of Elections honored a poll worker this week who was brutally beaten on Election Day.

Police say on election morning, Stanley Denker was walking to the McGuinness Senior Center polling site when he was robbed and beaten by two men.

The BOE says it's honoring Denker for his dedication to the job after he refused to go to the hospital and instead stayed at the polling site until the day was over.

Denker has been working with the Board of Elections for years and says although the recognition is appreciated, he takes his job as poll coordinator very seriously.
