BOERUM HILL - The New Baptist Temple held its second Thanksgiving meal yesterday more than a year after fire damage put the congregation?s services at risk.

Last July, a fire destroyed most of the edifice, but they have been able to renovate the basement to hold services.

Church leaders say they are still able to reach out to the community despite the misfortune.

Leaders say they will not be able to move upstairs yet, since it would cost at least $8 million to renovate the sanctuary.
