Boerum Hill parents protest closings of day care centers

BROOKLYN - Parents and children rallied in Boerum Hill today against the closing of two day care programs, claiming that they weren't given enough notice.Strong Place Day Care Center, which also houses Bethel Baptist Day Care Center, closed its doors today. According to parents, they were given just two days to figure out where to send their kids come Monday. The Administration for Children Services (ACS) says Strong Place was scheduled to close last summer, but funding was temporarily restored by the City Council.The ACS says it has been keeping parents informed about the closings and working with them to find alternative arraignments.
