BROOKLYN - A two-alarm fire destroyed a house in Borough Park this morning, leaving a family of six homeless.

Fire officials say the blaze ignited at the house on 57th Street and 11th Avenue. The family, which had been living at the house since 1945, was able to make it out alive. Five firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to area hospitals.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, but they believe it started outside the house in a car.
