THE BRONX - A New York City fifth-grade special education teacher has been arrested for the rape of a 10-year-old girl.

Authorities say 40-year-old Anthony Criscuolo, of P.S. 386 in the Bronx, has been charged with first-degree rape and predatory sexual assault against a child in an attack on a student from the school.

According to police sources, Criscuolo told the victim's parents that he was taking her to get an academic award on Monday, and even wrote a letter notifying them of the phony achievement on school letterhead.

Criscuolo allegedly drove the girl to another school and raped her inside his vehicle.
