BROOKDALE - Workers at Brookdale Hospital are planning to picket outside the hospital today to demand restored health benefits. Union officials say workers lost their health care coverage because the medical center owes approximately $27 million to the union benefit fund. Hospital officials say they struck a deal with the union, and are currently figuring out how to pay the workers' insurance company.
