BROOKLYN - A local artist is hard at work designing 12 years of Lunar New Year stamps representing the Chinese zodiac symbols.

Kam Mak was tapped as the official painter of the annual Chinese New Year's stamp for the U.S. Postal Service. This year's stamp was just revealed for the year of the snake, which Mak painted as a string of bright red firecrackers.

Mak is a Chinese descendant, and says it's an honor to create the stamps. He has designed six so far and will create six more in the next six years.
