BROOKLYN - Twenty local artists are vying for a chance to showcase their work before an international audience.

Competitors are designing coolers for the Red Bull Canvas Cooler Project. They’re given just eight hours to complete their functional pieces of art.

The winner of the worldwide contest will be selected in Bushwick Thursday, and will get an exhibit at Scope Miami during Art Basel in early December.

All other local coolers will go on display in Brooklyn bars and restaurants.
