MIDWOOD - Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) publicly apologized today for his Purim costume that caused a stir in the borough.

A pictured posted on Facebook shows Hikind with his face painted black with an Afro-style wig on his head. Hikind was with his wife and son at a party they hosted at their home.

Hikind hosted a press conference from his home in Midwood and said he never intended to offend anyone. The assemblyman said he always likes to be unrecognizable during the Jewish holiday.
