SHEEPSHEAD BAY - Brooklyn was hit with a round of severe weather as thunderstorms moved through the region today.

The powerful storm that swept through the area left residents running for cover and many flood-prone streets underwater.

Businesses and restaurants along Emonds Avenue say they even lost their evening rush due to the storm.

The storm produced deadly and devastating tornadoes in the south, killing more than 200 people.
