BROOKLYN - An expansion to Brooklyn Botanic Garden will be open to the public next week.
The Native Flora Garden is one-acre of an already existing garden that is 102 years old. It features five distinct plant communities, all native to the New York region.
Botanical garden president Scot Medbury says the goal of the expansion is to show a commitment to the conservation of plants native to the area.
