Brooklyn Brewery begins $8 million expansion

WILLIAMSBURG - The Brooklyn Brewery is celebrating the expansion of its brewhouse today.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg cut the ceremonial ribbon this afternoon to mark the occasion.

The brewery opened a new facility right next door to the current one in Williamsburg. The president of the brewery says the $8 million expansion is expected to double its sales within the next three years.

The beer-making business was started back in 1988 and now employs nearly 70 workers.
