BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn choreographer is being honored for his creative talents with a national award and $625,000.

Kyle Abraham has been struggling financially for years to keep his dream of dancing alive. He specializes in blending modern and hip-hop genres for his company Abraham in Motion.

After being nominated by community members, Abraham was one of 24 chosen to be inducted into the MacArthur Fellows Program. Only three others are from Brooklyn.

Abraham says he will use the money to improve his company and his craft.
