BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents spent Saturday morning digging out from the fourth biggest snowstorm on record in New York City.

Borough Park had registered nearly 20 inches of snow.

By Saturday afternoon, plows were still cleaning roadways as drivers continued extricating their vehicles from mounds of snow and ice.

The ice covering the ground has also been causing trouble for pedestrians, but some homeowners made it their duty to salt the sidewalk in front of their homes.
