BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn doctor is back home after a month in Africa, where she brought health care access to hundreds of women.

Dr. Carol McIntosh left America for Sierra Leone in October, where she was the lead physician. In the month she was there, she and a nurse examined and evaluated more than 900 women and delivered 13 babies.

Dr. McIntosh's trip was made possible thanks to the House of the Lord Church on Atlantic Avenue, which raised $3,000 to send her to Africa.
