Brooklyn family injured in hit-and-run

BROOKLYN - Police say a mother and her two children were struck by two cars at the intersection of Utica Avenue and Avenue H Sunday night before one of the drivers fled the scene.

According to authorities, a mother, her 11-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son were crossing Utica Avenue when a white SUV hit them and kept going. Moments later, a Ford Taurus hit the trio and stopped. Police arrested the driver of the Ford for having a suspended license.

The mother and 11-year-old daughter are in stable condition, though the 8-year-old son remains in critical condition.

Police ask anyone with information about the accident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
