BROOKLYN - Hundreds of students of all ages marched to school Tuesday morning with a special escort: their dads!

Many Brooklyn fathers participating in Dads Take Your Child to School Day walked as a group to M.S. 265 in Fort Greene where Chancellor Dennis Walcott commended them for getting involved.

Players from the Brooklyn Nets also showed up to support the stand-up dads, and handed out backpacks to students.

More than 130 schools citywide took part in the annual event, which encourages parents, especially fathers, to play an active role in their children's lives.
