BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn florist was given the chance to showcase her skills in the country's capital this holiday season.

Emily Thompson, who works out of Dumbo, was hand-picked to take part in designs for the White House Christmas this year. After accepting, she spent weeks creating her own decorations.

Thompson was discovered through an article about her floral arrangements in the New York Times.
