BROOKLYN - A group representing Brooklyn is hoping its homemade airplane will win the 2013 Redbull Flugtag competition in Washington, D.C. this weekend.
The team is made up of five workers from Brooklyn Public House, a craft beer bar in Fort Greene.
Their plane is named the Kitty Hawk as a tribute to the Wright Brothers’ first successful flight in 1903.
The Redbull Flugtag competition incorporates creative, aerodynamic and sometimes funny winged objects that are wheeled off a ramp and into water. The best homemade plane crew will take home free skydiving lessons.
Kitty Hawk will be up against 30 other teams from across the nation.
