BROOKLYN - The Brooklyn Heights Library closed its doors Tuesday as it begins its renovations.

The first floor of 280 Cadman Plaza, where the library is located, will have a new library and also house a luxury 36-story condominium tower on top of it.

A temporary branch will be located five blocks away, at 109 Remsen St.

Some residents say they are angry that their beloved library is being changed, while others say they are willing to sacrifice convenience for a more modern look.
