PROSPECT PARK - Brooklyn Ice, a free after-school skating program, has returned to Prospect Park after a three-year hiatus.

The rink at Prospect Park reopened in December after a renovation.

The program started in 2004 at the Brooklyn rink, but students had been commuting all the way to Manhattan's Bryant Park during a three-year renovation.

Brooklyn Ice began as a way to keep kids in shape while boosting their self-esteem.
