Brooklyn man dies in LIE tanker crash

MELVILLE - A Brooklyn man was killed Saturday after the fuel tanker truck he was driving flipped on the Long Island Expressway and exploded.

Police say 57-year-old Mujahid Shah was traveling westbound when his tanker clipped another car and flipped over.

Emergency crews battled the flames for about three hours and officials say the heat was so intense, a road sign and much of the pavement melted.

The owner of the fuel company says Shah is survived by his wife and two children.
