QUEENS - Police are searching for the driver who fatally struck a Brooklyn man in Queens before driving off.

Police were called to the scene on Lansing Avenue this past Thursday morning. Brooklyn resident Jose Padilla-Argueta, 35, was found unconscious and bleeding, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Video surveillance in the area shows a light-colored Volkswagen GTI traveling east on Lansing Avenue toward Conduit Avenue. The car has substantial damage and police believe it's the vehicle that hit Padilla-Argueta.

Anyone who recognizes the car is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
