Brooklyn mom regains sight after surgery

BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn mother who lost her sight two years ago has regained vision just in time for Christmas after a surgery.

Cassy Rivera, who was blinded by a disease called uveitis, had surgery to repair one eye, allowing her to see her baby for the first time. Rivera calls it "a Christmas miracle."

Rivera says she lost her sight when she gave birth to her daughter, Aniahya. Doctors say they will know after eight weeks whether or not the surgery was a success.

Rivera says she'll have surgery on her other eye after the holidays.
