BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn mom has tapped into the buying power of kids and is reaping all the benefits.

Loretta Gendville, of Carroll Gardens, expanded her flagship shop Area Kids on Smith Street into 10 thriving stores all catering to little ones. The businesses include a yoga studio and spa, and a wonder world of toys and clothes.

Gendville says that 10 years ago she never imagined her store would expand into a kiddie empire.
