DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN - Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced today that the Brooklyn Municipal Building in Downtown Brooklyn will become a retail destination.

The building currently houses the city's Department of Finance.

Officials say the first and second floors will become the home of shops and a restaurant, while the remaining floors will still house city offices.

The project will also add dozens of construction jobs and more than 100 permanent jobs once the construction is completed, according to Bloomberg.
