BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn Museum held its first American Fine Craft show this weekend, where dozens of artists across the nation displayed their locally made work.

Artist Richard Rothbard founded the show, which features modern and dynamic artwork. Rothbard collaborated with the Brooklyn Museum to select 90 artists, including 11 from Brooklyn.

Nick Leonoff, one of the Brooklyn artists who was selected for the show, has a glass-making studio in Bushwick, where he designs and sculpts his pieces.

Both Rothbard and Leonoff say they hope the show can increase interest in locally made crafts, and that having the show at the Brooklyn Museum will help attract a younger clientele. Organizers hope to make it an annual event.
