Brooklyn nabs spot on top 10 tourist travel list for 2007

CONEY ISLAND - A travel publisher is urging tourists to get their passports and check out Brooklyn's culture and destinations.

Lonely Planet has named the borough one of its top 10 destinations of 2007. The publisher says Brooklyn is one of the most diverse and hippest places to explore. Brooklyn also boasts great restaurants, museums and gardens.

Lonely Planet says travelers should be sure to participate in annual events like the West Indian Day Parade and Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest.
