BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn man drowned after going over a 100-foot waterfall while tubing upstate over the weekend.

The St. Lawrence County Sherriff’s Office told the Watertown Daily Times that a diver recovered the body of Elliot Mullings Monday morning.

The 21-year-old disappeared 20 hours earlier below Lampson Falls in the Town of Clare. Police say alcohol was not involved and that strong currents and water temperature were likely factors in the drowning.

Mullings was majoring in law enforcement at SUNY Canton.
