BROOKLYN - Brooklyn had a strong showing at the Oscar's Sunday night.

Songwriting couple Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, from Park Slope, won the award for Best Original Song for "Let It Go" from "Frozen." People in Park Slope say they're proud of their Academy Award-winning neighbors. The songwriting duo says they were inspired by the winter wonderland in Prospect Park.

Brooklyn resident Lupita N'yongo won for Best Supporting Actress for the film "12 Years a Slave." People say local success stories like N'yongo's will help push along the dreams of Brooklyn's youth.
